Special Recognition

This weekend's lineup included a set of Dillon brothers, Norm and Sam; and ALSO included an Uncle (Rob Carlisle) and Nephew (James Matl). Family affair in the Arrows clubhouse.

Arrow No. 51 Brett Owens earned his 25th Cap this past Saturday and again our line up included an Uncle (Rob Carlisle) at Flanker and Nephew (James Matl) at Wing.

In rugby culture, players earn their 'Cap' when they make a competitive match appearance. When an Arrow earns their first Cap, they also receive their permanent Arrows Number. For each Cup/League Match an Arrow plays, he will earn a Cap!

Playoffs

For the first time in club history, the Arrows have won the Division Title for Texas Rugby Union's Division 3 South and are going to the Playoffs.

The TRU Quarterfinal Match will be a HOME MATCH that we host against an opponent yet to be determined by the finish of the other subdivisions' matches - it will be a 2nd place finisher from either the Central, North, or 'D1-c' subdivisions. (more details here: https://texasrugbyunion.com/competitions/).

The TRU Semifinal and Final Championship Matches will be played on April 23 and 24th, respectively, at Burr Field, home of the Austin Blacks.

The TRU Champion will play the South Conference Champion in the National Quarterfinal Match on May 7 at AVEVA Stadium, where we played Corpus Christi earlier this season.

And the winner of that match will go to the National Championship Weekend (Final 4) on the weekend of May 21 and 22nd at a location in the U.S. yet to be determined.

Next Up

HOME TRU Quarterfinal Match.

If we win, we advance to the TRU Semifinal Match in Austin. If we lose, our season is over.

The Arrows will host a team yet to be determined at Our Savior Lutheran on April 9 for a 2:00 PM Kickoff.

Following the match, we will host a family-friendly social at the Northside Columbus Club. Please come out to support Houston's Catholic Rugby club!
