Men's Rugby

Playing for the Arrows

Our Club becomes more organized every year. Our Rugby gets better ever year. This sport provides a fraternal training environment to improve the person - physically, intellectually, and spiritually.

Just under half of our competitive rugby players had never played the sport before joining the Arrows. This figure does not even count all the folks who have come out to training to see if they like the sport!

As our player ranks grow, so too will the Club. We are blessed to play in an amateur league that provides the competitive opportunities for Clubs to grow organically.

You do NOT have to be Catholic to play for Arrows RFC. The basic expectation of all Arrows is to uphold the Club's Code of Conduct.

The League

The Arrows Men's Teams compete in the Texas Rugby Union's Red River Rugby Conference. Currently, our 1st side (our most competitive side) plays in Division 3. With 4 competitive Divisions, there is plenty of room for growth as a Club and for the individual player.

A Season's competitive structure is a Home + Away match format with each team in our Region, typically providing between 8 - 10 competitive matches in our Regular Season.

The National Governing Body (NGB) of our sport is USA Rugby.

The Commitment

TRAINING: 2 nights per week

COMPETITION: 2 - 3 Saturdays per month

Our typical competitive season begins in September/October and ends in April/May. In season, we train on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Northside Columbus Club . Competitive rugby tournaments and matches are on Saturdays with the rare Sunday match. Our home matches are at Our Savior Lutheran (Oak Forest neighborhood) and our furthest travel is Corpus Christi.
