Arrows host Aggies and Rugby HTX – Oct 30
Arrows RFC is hosting its first-ever DOUBLE-HEADER Rugby event this Saturday, October 30 at Our Savior Lutheran. A post-event meal and social will be hosted by the Arrows at the Northside Columbus Club (home of Knights of Columbus: Council 2917).
Join us as the Arrows take on Texas A&M's 2nd side at 1:00 PM to raise the curtain for Rugby HTX to take on the fightin' Texas Aggies of College Station at 3:00 PM.
Texas A&M Rugby have been on a hot streak this Fall already defeating Texas Tech, losing narrowly to Sam Houston State, and beating Arkansas, the University of North Texas, and BOTH Oklahoma University AND the University of Texas (2nd side match) on the same day in both Norman and Austin, respectively.
The Arrows men will be gathering for its first run of the season; and will have their hands full, facing the side that downed the Longhorns' 2nd side last Saturday.
Rugby HTX is the Developmental squad for the Houston SaberCats, a founding team of the North American professional competition Major League Rugby. Saturday's pinnacle match will feature players from across the country - many hopeful of a shot at the professional stage - against the historically premier Texas collegiate rugby club in the Aggies.
Old Maroon members - that is, Aggie Rugby alumni - are regularly featured both in Arrows Rugby and Rugby HTX squads; so many an Aggie will be reuniting this weekend on and off the pitch.
The event is free of charge and all are welcome!
