Lent
Consider joining us for these Tales as part of your Lenten practice!
Lent is the liturgical season in which we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ; the ultimate triumph over sin. In this period that begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts until Holy Thursday, we commit ourselves to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
We seek to unite ourselves to Christ in Prayer, led by sacred scripture. Listening to the faith journeys (Tales) of brothers in Christ could be helpful to open up the heart as well.
We seek to discipline our desires of the flesh and the world through fasting. This is the primary element that begs the common question, "What are you giving up for Lent?"
And we give alms. All that we have is given by God, after all. Lent is an excellent time to detach ourselves from earthly possessions, to return our gifts to the Lord.
