Arrows Apostolate

Arrows Rugby hosts spiritual formation programming during the Fall, Spring, and Summer. This Fall, we hosted our all-new "BrewTube" program. Stocked by Club Partner Platypus Brewery (on Washington Ave) and led by Apostolate Director Andy Maul, attendees enjoyed a thought-provoking series of YouTube videos and engaged in conversation over a cold, post-training brew.
This Spring, we embark on our 3rd season of "Arrows Tales" or faith-sharing conversations in form of an interview over drinks and a meal. Join us as Arrows men share details of their individual journeys to faith.

Season 3 Kickoff - Mitch England

Adam Smyth kicked us off this Spring with his interview of Mitch England. From Ole Miss to the Air Force to Western Academy here in Houston, Mitch gives us great courage in our fight.

Join us

Please consider joining us in-person to experience the conversation live. Sessions typically begin at 8:00 PM or 8:30 PM after rugby training, include an easy meal and drinks, and last about 1.5 - 2 hours. Our remaining Tales are:

Thursday, March 24: Eric Co (Arrow No. 21)

Tuesday, April 26: Father Eamonn Shelly, LC (Arrows Chaplain)

Lent

Consider joining us for these Tales as part of your Lenten practice!

Lent is the liturgical season in which we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ; the ultimate triumph over sin. In this period that begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts until Holy Thursday, we commit ourselves to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

We seek to unite ourselves to Christ in Prayer, led by sacred scripture. Listening to the faith journeys (Tales) of brothers in Christ could be helpful to open up the heart as well.

We seek to discipline our desires of the flesh and the world through fasting. This is the primary element that begs the common question, "What are you giving up for Lent?"

And we give alms. All that we have is given by God, after all. Lent is an excellent time to detach ourselves from earthly possessions, to return our gifts to the Lord.
